Nets 89 – Heat 102

The Nets went into Miami tonight and looked good out of the gate and nothing like the team that played the Heat in the third game of the season that got blown out by 30.  The Nets were aggressive and focused to start the game and were playing great rotation defense in the first half and took it right at the Heat.

Deron Williams had 6 assists after the first quarter and the Nets ball movement was nothing short of “special” to watch at times as they made the extra pass and hit the shots when open.  The first half was a clinic on how to play on both ends of the court and the Heat were on their heals and the Nets led 59-50 at half.

Then came the dubious third quarter……The Nets ball movement slowed down and began to turn the ball over and give Miami easy run outs and that is how that team wins.  Credit must be given to the Heat defense but Brooklyn made it very easy as they continued to throw the ball away after halftime and ended with 19 turnovers overall.

The Heat outscored the Nets 32-19 in the third and even after that barrage the Nets still had a chance as the game was in single digits with four minutes to go.  Shot after shot was missed and so was an great opportunity to make a statement.

The Nets were 10 for 31 from the field in the second half and just couldn’t hit a shot in the fourth quarter and that was the tale of the tape.

Proud of the guys for playing back to back and showing great heart.
