Nets 87 – Nuggets 109

Joe Johnson and Ty Lawson out for this game. Off a Deron Williams dish, Reggie Evans lays it up and in to tie the game 8-8. He’s hot with 4 points and 2 boards to start the game. Nuggets have assists on six of their first eight makes. They lead Nets 16-9 with 5:38 left in first. With a quick 10-4 run, Nets cut the Nuggets lead to 1 point, 20-19, late first.  Evans with 7/6. Nuggets have 22 points in the paint.  Nets down 26-23 after the first quarter.

Bench Mob started second as always. C.J. Watson is in foul trouble, just picking up his 3rd foul. He’s been a non-factor with 1 point (0-0 FG) in 4 minutes. With a 13-5 run in 5:10, Nuggets take a 35-28 lead against Nets, early second. Nuggets are getting inside at will. Nuggets take their biggest lead of the game with a Danilo Gallinari jumper. Up 17 pts, 45-28 mid second. HALFTIME: Nets trail Denver 38-55. Deron Williams leads Brooklyn with 11 points to go along with 2 assists, while Evans has a 7 and 8.

Nuggets are dominating inside the entire game.  They’ve got 31 pt in the paint vs 13 points for Nets. Led by Kosta Koufos with 3 layups, a dunk and a free throw. Brook Lopez misses another jumper, shooting 2-9 FGs. He’s killing Nets with his shooting. Nets losing 55-38, early third. Nets are down 40-20 in the paint and 19-0 on the break. Both teams are struggling from distance in this game. Nuggets are shooting an abysmal 16% (1-6) and Nets are shooting 23% (3-13). Watson hits a 3-pointer as time expires in the third, but the Nets are still down 80-66 with one frame left.

Nets are leaving points at the line, making just 15-30 (50%) of their free throws.  Lopez with an abysmal 3-9 from the stripe. This game is over! Nuggets are cruising to victory, up 17 points, 97-80 against Nets with 3:42 left. It hasn’t been close since early second. Nuggets beat Nets at home to 33-3, 109-87.

GAMECHANGER: Second quarter the Nets allowed the Nuggets to run away with the game losing
29-15 in the quarter. Fast break dunks and layups killed the Nets all night.
