Nets 113 – Cavs 95

Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace sat out the game with Keith Bogans and MarShon Brooks getting the spot starts.  The Nets went to Brook Lopez early against the smaller Tyler Zeller and hit 2-3 from the floor in first few minutes.  The nets looked good early with Brooks scoring 11 points and dishing out a couple of assists.   Nets up 26-14 with two to play. Reggie Evans grabbed six rebounds to go with Lopez six points to give the Nets a 28-20 lead after one quarter. Nets shot a torrid 13-20 for 63 percent in the first. MarShon Brooks dunks pregame

Bench Mob started second with all backups.  Brooks continued his explosion and is now 8-8 for 17 points.  Nets match their biggest lead of the game with an Andray Blatche jumper. Up 12 pts, 32-20 early second.  Nets increase their largest lead of the game with a Jerry Stackhouse dunk to put them up 15 pts, 45-30 middle second.  Back to back to back 3-pointers by Deron Williams and C.J. Watson exploded the lead to 63-36.  Brooklyn’s Backcourt of Williams and Brooks has 37 points and 10 assists so far. Nets shoot 73 percent for the half and lead 66-36.

The second half started much like the first with Brooklyn staying hot. Williams hit another three to give him 21 points on 4-4 from deep.  Ridiculous 3pt FG% in this game. Nets are shooting lights out at 72% (8-11) and Cavs are shooting well at 60% (3-5).  Nets up 76-46.  Williams hit with his first ever career flagrant foul trying to stop  Zeller from a dunk. Brooks kept coming and a couple more for 23 points with half the third to play.  The Nets dominating the glass at 31-17 midway thru third.   Evans with 17 rebounds to end the quarter and the Nets leading 95-58.

I got a chance to rest, and play under 30 minutes, and we’re going to need it because Chicago is sitting there waiting for us.”[/blockquote]

The fourth began with an 9-3 run to cut the Nets lead to 97-76 with nine to play.  Despite the 9-3 run in 1:50, Cavs are still getting blown out 95-73 by Nets, early fourth.  This game is over! Nets are cruising to victory, up 22 pts, 101-79 against Cavs mid fourth. It hasn’t been close since middle of the first. Nets win with ease with a career high 27 from MarShon Brooks and ties a career high with 7 assists. Dominating game from jump.  Nets win 113-95 in a laugher.

Rebounds – Evans – 18

Assists – Williams – 8

STAT OF THE GAME: The Nets had a season high in assists with 31 and first half field goal percentage of 73 percent in a dominating win.

GAMECHANGER: – MarShon Brooks came out on a mission and scored 18 first half points on 9-for-9 shooting to go wth four assists to help the Nets build a 66-36 halftime lead.
