In the late moments of the Nets 99-94 loss to the Lakers it seems that rookie head coach Jason Kidd bumped into Tyhsawn Taylor causing his drink to spill on the court which led to an “unofficial” timeout.

UPDATE: 11/28/13: 7:00pm – Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that the NBA will fine Jason Kidd for the dropped cup incident.

The video shows that Kidd mouthing something like “hit me” before Taylor runs into him.

[quote_box]Taylor on the spilled drink –

“Coach was in my way…’Coach, get outta my way, bro'” said Taylor.  “Coach is drinking a soda on the sideline … I was like, ‘What’s he doing?  It could ice a free throw shooter and be a timeout when you don’t have one, but that wasn’t the thought process.”[/quote_box]

[quote_box]Kidd on the incident –

“Cup slipped out of my hand while I was getting Ty,” Kidd told reporters. “Sweaty palms. I was never good with the ball. So, in the heat of the battle, you’re trying to get guys in and out of the game, and the Coke fell out of my hand.”[/quote_box]

I am actually embarrassed by this entire scenario and not because Kidd made a veteran coaching move but because specific Nets fans brought this to the world’s attention via Twitter to get their name somewhere on the internet and may cost the Nets and their coach a nice fine.

Nice job Nets fans…….
