The Nets played their first home game on the preseason last night against the Pistons and only the people on hand at Barclays Center could see the action as the game was not televised.

The Nets lost the game 99-88 as the starters only played limited minutes again in reparation of the regular season.

Shaun Livingston, who started in Deron Williams’ place once again as he recovers from his ankle woes finished with two Andray Blatche high fives Shaun Livingstonpoints and a solid seven assists.  Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce sat out the entire second half while Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson played a few minutes in the third quarter.

The started played well and cohesive once again although they got beat up on the boards and in the paint just as the bench did later in the game.  The Nets were out rebounded 33-to-23 and allowed way too may easy dunks and paint touched to the Pistons bigs.

Andray Blatche led the Nets with 15 points off the bench and Andrie Kirilenko did his usual stat sheet stuffing with a few of everything.

Andre Drummond scored 15 points and first-round pick Kentavious CaldwellPope added 12 to go with Tony Mitchell’s 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Pistons.  The new addition of Josh Smith had nine points in 30 minutes of play while Brandon Jennings did not play as a coaches decision.
