The Brooklyn Nets defeated the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 93-81  in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn was coming off a miserable performance in Detroit on Friday where they were obliterated in every way and came out in this one with a purpose on defense.

The Nets started off on a 11-0 and were up 29-14 after one which was their biggest first quarter lead of the season.  They held the Pelicans to under 30 percent shooting and were swarming all over the floor.

Jason Terry became the 10th active NBA player to record 5,000 assists and he did on an awesome alley-oop to Mason Plumlee in the second quarter.Mason Plumlee dunks on the Pelicans

Plumlee put on a highlight show in the first half with 14 points on four dunks to go with seven rebounds and two blocks and was the spark that helped the Nets break this open.

Brooklyn held the Pelicans to 28 first half points which is a season low for an opponent against the Nets.

The third quarter woes came back for Brooklyn when they were outscored and outplayed 32-20 in third to only be up 71-60 after three.

The second team with Plumlee/AK47/Terry/Anderson and Mirza played the entire fourth and brought home the win with tremendous energy and passion.

Mirza Teletovic put together his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Alan Anderson led the second unit tonight with 13 points and three assists.

“You know, a win is a win, but you can’t be happy with the way we closed the game,” Pierce said. “We gave up lay-ups, 3’s … we were up 19, and let them back in the game a couple times in this game.
