The Brooklyn Nets lost to the Denver Nuggets last night by a score of 111-87  in Memphis.

Brooklyn was in position to put their first back-to-back wins together this year and also open up an advantageous home schedule with the visiting Nuggets although the positive energy only lasted one half.

The Nets came out looking good and actually held a 29-27 lead after the first quarter behind Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez dominating inside with 10 paint points each.

The momentum carried into the second quarter until the Nets got sloppy with the ball and stopped penetrating the paint.  Denver’s bench had something to do with the surge behind Nate Robinson’s energy and extra effort.  The Nets bench could not match the energy and went down 58-50 at half.

The Nets had the lead down to four points early in the third quarter only to start missing open shots and allowed Denver to go on a 15-0 run to extend the lead to 20 points.  They were 4-for-15 from the field in the fateful “third quarter.”

That was the last time anything good came for the Nets all night.  Brook Lopez missed easy bunnies and the Nuggets went free style crazy and threw down at least eight alley-oop dunks all over Barclays Center.

The boo birds were out in full force by the fourth quarter.

The rout was on and as usual the Brooklyn Nets did not have any fight in them and they got blown out again 111-87 for their fifth straight loss at home.

“They care about performance and coming out and we need to have a better showing at home, we need to have a better showing, period. And we will. We have no choice.”[/quote_box]
