The Brooklyn Nets were hammered by the Portland Trailblazers by a score of 124-80 in Portland.

This game was an abomination right from the very beginning and the entire Nets organization should be ashamed of themselves for the performance, or lack thereof, in Portland.

Both their point guards got in foul trouble in the first quarter and the wheels came off from that point as they struggled to end of the first only down 29-20.

The second quarter was even worse if that is possible as Brooklyn was run all over by the younger Trailblazers and were down 58-34 at half.  The game was all but over with the lethargic and over matched Nets team sleep walking through the game.

The game was so bad early in the third quarter that Jason Kidd sat his starters, who did absolutely nothing, the rest of the game and watched the bench get demolished for 42 fourth quarter points.

The 44-point loss was tied for the third-worst margin of defeat in franchise history and worst since 2003.

UNACCEPTABLE to have seven players on the Trailblazers all score on double figures and all of them outscore the highest scoring Nets player.

“When we lose like this it’s a complete lack of focus. There’s no way we should be losing by 40 to any NBA team with the guys we got,” Pierce said.

“I’ve got to say it’s a complete lack of focus. That’s all I have to say. We just didn’t show up […] We could be playing the Eastern Conference All-Stars. We shouldn’t lose by 40. Regardless of who is out there, even if they have their best player. So I don’t know if it’s one of those nights. But at this point in the season – the second half of the season, there’s only so many games left. There’s no way we should come out and play this way.”
