The Brooklyn Nets played the Philadelphia Sixers last night and blew them out of the Wells Fargo Center minus seven players.  The game was again not televised so the stats will have to tell the story for anyone not in Philly.

Jason Kidd had a limited roster with a number of players hurt and not even traveling with the team but the players he had got the job done.  The Nets put up 38 first-quarter points and look very good from the opening tip sharing the ball and most importantly protecting the paint and outrebounded the Sixers badly.  The Nets scored 65 first half points and had a 16 point lead at half which only got larger as the game went on.

The Nets have been questioned about their interior defense so far and last night they stepped up and crushed the Sixers on the boards (54-31), limiting them to 39.3 percent shooting behind 33-for-84 shooting from the field.

Shaun Livingston, starting again for the injured Deron Williams, was the player of the game with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and only 2 turnovers in 23 quality minutes.  His solid play this preseason has not gone unnoticed by the head coach.

Mirza Teletovic was hitting from long range going 5-for-9 from deep to score 21 points while Joe Johnson added 18 points in 22 minutes.  The man in the middle, Brook Lopez, was his normal efficient self shooting 7-for-14 and scoring 17 easy points.  The Nets bench outscored the Sixers 67-33.

NOTES: Paul Pierce (rest) and Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) did not even make the trip to Philadelphia.

The Nets are back home at Barclays Center tonight to play the visiting Boston Celtics.
