The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Denver Nuggets by a score of 112-89 in Denver.

What a difference a day makes in the NBA.  The Nets got their heads handed to them Wednesday night in Portland 124-80 which is the fourth worst loss in franchise history only to come back the next night and put a beatdown on the Nuggets in their building 112-89.

The Nets held the Nuggets to 8 points in the 1st quarter, the fewest points the Nets have allowed in any quarter this season and the fewest the Nets have allowed in a 1st quarter since Utah scored 7 points (12/17/08).

Denver shot a putrid 3-for-18 in the first quarter and turned it over 8 times as the Nets jumped all over them and the game was over by the end of the first quarter with Denver down 29-8.

The Nets lead the Nuggets 59-36 at halftime and all 10 Brooklyn players who played in the first half scored and the ball was moving beautifully.

Through three quarters, the Nets’ reserves outscored Denver’s 40-4 and the fourth quarter was rest time for Brooklyn’s starters.

The Nets have won 18 straight games when holding a lead at halftime & are 9-0 this season when allowing 40 or fewer 1st half points.

Great job by Jason Kidd getting the team to forget about the debacle in Portland and get a much needed road win that makes them 3-2 on this current six-game trip with the Bucks on the horizon Saturday.

‘We looked fresh after the back-to-back,” Nets coach Jason Kidd said. ”Normally, we don’t look fresh. The guys were getting stops and we were getting easy baskets. We were sharing the ball, multiple guys were touching the ball, it wasn’t one guy just taking it and shooting it. Guys were creating movement and there was a lot of trust offensively.”
