The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Milwuakee Bucks by a score of 107-98 in Milwaukee.

Kevin Garnett sat out with back spasms again so the bench was needed to finish out the road trip with a 4-2 record.

The game was tight the entire first half with Brooklyn taking a small 55-53 lead into the break.

Thornton (25 points) and Andray Blatche (19 points and 13 rebounds) led the bench effort on a night when the starters struggled to get into any rhythm.

Milwaukee committed 18 miscues leading to 21 Brooklyn points and ultimately cost the Bucks a chance at a rare win.

Thornton ended up being the catalyst  in the fourth quarter where he played all 12 minutes and gave Jason Kidd a chance to rest Deron Williams.

The Nets swept the season series with the Bucks for the first time since the 2007-’08 season

But then, also, I think one of the biggest things is it gives the other guys a chance to catch their breath on the bench” said Jason Kidd of Marcus Thornton.  “We didn’t have to go back to Deron or Joe at the end, and that’s big at the end of a long trip.”
