The Brooklyn Nets beat the Orlando Magic by a score of 101-90 in Brooklyn.

Both teams came out shooting well for the better half of the first quarter and Andray Blatche entered the game and he didn’t skip a beat with seven quick points. Nets had nine assists on their first 12 field goals, shot 57 percent and led 27-21 after one.

The second quarter was ugly for the Nets as their shooting went cold but the defense held up to the test. The Magic hit a few 3-pointers to get the game closer but good old Joe Johnson hit a couple jumpers late to give him 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting.

The Nets went into halftime leading 46-41 behind 20 points from the bench.

Nets had won 11 straight games when leading at halftime.

Brooklyn came out to start the third quarter on a 10-2 run to get some distance between themselves and Orlando.  The Nets held Orkando to 3-for-21 shooting in the quarter and outscored them 25-14 to take a 73-56 lead into the fourth. The Magic’s 14 points in the 3rd quarter are a new opponent season-low for a 3rd quarter.

Blatche decided to do some Blatche type things and smashed a one handed dunk on Kyle O’Quinn’s head and then step out to drill a 3-pointer on the next possession.  Mirza Teletovic got involved with three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter alone to give him 14 points for the game.

Deron Williams looked to get his legs back under him in this game and played 28 minutes to total nine assists with his nine points.

The fourth was all about garbage time and it helped the Magic make it look a little better score wise as Brooklyn gave up 34 fourth quarter points.

The Nets have now won 3 straight games by double digits after just 3 of their first 14 wins came by double digits.

The Nets are now an NBA-best 8-1 in January and have won a season-best 6 straight games at Barclays Center.

“The biggest thing about this turnaround is we never got down on one another,” Pierce said. “We’ve never had the finger pointing, we’ve never put the blame on anybody but ourselves. We kept coming to work, kept staying professional because we still believed we’d turn this thing around.

“The thing is, when you believe and you continue to get through the tough patches, it shows how things can kind of turnaround, and that’s what you see right now.”
