The Brooklyn Nets lost to the Los Angeles Lakers last night by a score of 99-94 in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn came out in the first quarter and looked lethargic and out of sync and the Lakers took advantage from behind the arc to grab a quick 34-18 lead after one.

The lead grew to as many as 27 points in the second quarter as old friend Jordan Farmar decided to scorch the Nets all by himself with three straight 3-pointers.  The game looked to be a blowout until Joe Johnson got the Nets going and hit a few jumpers.

Johnson had 16 points at halftime to keep the Nets in it at 54-40 but not before the Barlcays Center crowd started to chant “Lets Go Lakers” while Nets Andray Blatche dunks on the Lakersfans tried to drown them out unsuccessfully.

The  Nets clawed back the entire second half little by little with better defense and the help of Andray Blatche (14 points) and Paul Pierce (12 points) woke up from a scoreless first half.  Pierce score 10 points in the third quarter to help Brooklyn win the infamous third 28-23.

The Nets completed the comeback in the fourth behind the hot shooting of Mirza Teletovic (17 points)who scored 14 points in the quarter and the Nets tied the game at 92 with 3:57 to play and the Barclays Center crowd was in a frenzy.

The comeback would fall short as the Nets shot 1-for-9 from the floor over that final 3:57 and ended up turning it over a few times that led to the Lakers victory wghich was their 11th in a row against Brooklyn.

Jason Kidd made headlines when he bumped into Tyshawn Taylor in the closing minute and dropping his soda on the floor while the Lakers were shooting free throws to seemingly get a timeout that the Nets did not have.  The move was a veteran move by the rookie coach and it almost worked well enough to help Brooklyn squaek out a win[/box]

That’s what we believe in as a coaching staff, and as players. We will make these shots, and if they keep presenting themselves we will be fine”Kidd said after the game.[/quote_box]

[box]KEY STATS: The Nets allowed the Lakers bench to outscore their bench 52-to-41 behind Farmar’s 15 points on 5-for-7 from deep.
