It seems like it has been years since Brooklyn Nets fans have seen their big man, Brook Lopez, play in a game but in actuality it hasn’t been that long.

Lopez re-injured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot on Dec. 20th while playing a game in Philadelphia and has been out ever since.  He had surgery on it Jan. 4. and has been rehabbing ever since.

A more important second surgery was performed, called a first metatarsal osteotomy, where a specific bone was repositioned in his foot to help alleviate the pressure and protect the injured area on the troublesome foot.

As Mike Mazzeo states, Lopez also underwent a third surgery on March 3rd to repair a torn tendon and tighten lateral ligaments in his left ankle.

“I was fully cleared for play and everything about a week and a half ago now,” said Lopez. “Now it’s time to get back in shape.”

Lopez is currently traveling in Russia with his Brother, Robin, as part of an effort to rebuild some basketball facilities.
