One of Jason Kidd’s ex-teammates had a few nice things to say about him before last nights game at home against San Antonio.

Shawn Marion went into battle with Kidd in Dallas and won a championship following his point guards lead so he knows first hand how Kidd’s mind works.

One thing Marion did make mention that Kidd will be fine in due time once his players buy into what he is preaching and the fact that he is in the media capital of the world that really doesn’t know the word “patience” doesn’t help his situation.

[quote_box]“He’s in a tough situation because (his players are) not responding right now,’’ Marion said. “I think deep down he can be a really good coach,’’

“It’s still a long season left. I wish him the best of luck.’’

“We went to war together here,’’ Marion said. “I came here with J-Kidd, and his basketball mind is really strong.

“We talked a lot about different things and different situations on the court, and I know where he’s at. I know what he’s seeing, I know where he’s coming from.’’

“In New York, that whole media up there makes it hard to do anything,’’ Marion said. “He just has to stay positive and things are going to turn around for him.

“Hopefully they’ll be able to shake it off and get things turned around and get it going. It can only get better.’’
