[quote_simple]NETS STARTERS

The starting lineup will be a little different tonight with Shaun Livingston playing alongside Joe Johnson in the backcourt with Alan Anderson, Andray Blatche and the man in the middle Reggie Evans up front.

Brooklyn is dealing with a rash of injuries to 4-out of-5 starters as Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Kevin Garnett all will not play with sprained ankles.

Paul Pierce will also have the night off as he is dealing with a strained groin that he suffered in the win at Phoenix so the bench will be front and center tonight.

The Nets are coming off a win last night in Phoenix as Johnson hit a running floater as time expired in overtime to register their first road win of the season and also snap their three-game losing streak.

[quote_box]”We are a veteran team,” Livingston said.. “We know what’s at stake. This was very important.”[/quote_box]

[box]Game Notes:

The are looking for their first victory in Los Angeles since 11/15/10

The Nets are 3-0 this season in games in which they’ve outscored their opponent in the third quarter.

In last night’s overtime victory over Phoenix, Lopez moved into ninth place on the Nets NBA all-time scoring list.

[quote_simple]WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Testing their depth

The Nets depth will be tested more than any game maybe this season tonight as four starters are out with injuries playing against one of the top teams in the NBA on the road.

Players like Blatche, Livingston and Anderson will ply big minutes and this is a great time to show the Nets brass that the money they spent in the offseason went to good use.

Tornike Shengelia was recalled from Springfield for this game and Tyshawn Taylor should also see bug minutes as the backup point guard.

CLIPPERS STARTERS

The Clippers starting lineup will be Chris Paul and J.J. Redick in the backcourt with Jared Dudley, Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan playing in the frontcourt.

Coming off their impressive 111-103 victory over the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night, the Clippers improved to 6-3 overall and look like serious title contenders

The Clippers have beaten the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder by an average of 12.6 points at home so far homecourt advantage will be in their favor against the short-handed Nets.

[quote_box]”We’ve got to do a better job of not relaxing,” Griffin told the team’s official website. “I feel like we keep saying the same things over and over, but that’s a good thing that it’s on our mind and that’s what we want to achieve that full 48 minutes of defensive intensity.”[/quote_box]
