[quote_simple]NETS STARTERS

The starting lineup for the home opener tonight will be Deron Williams playing alongside Joe Johnson in the backcourt with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and the man in the middle Brook Lopez up front.

Andrei Kirilenko will see his first action of the season and get about 10 minutes of playing time as per Jason Kidd.

[box]Game Notes:

The Nets will look to get their first win of the year and do it at home against the angry Heat.

The Heat are coming off a horrible loss to the putrid Sixers in their last game so expect tempers and emotions to be running high as they come to Brooklyn.

The Heat took notice of the Nets offseason moves for sure and it showed in the preseason matchups between the teams. Hatred is the key to this budding rivalry as Pierce and Garnett bring their Celtic nastiness with them to Brooklyn.

[quote_simple]WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Bounce Back

The Nets twice blew out the Heat during the preseason, but the first game came with Dwyane Wade held out and the second with LeBron James sitting out so take from that what you will.

[box]”Everyone has to be patient,” said Garnett, who had 10 rebounds. “It’s not just because you assemble guys and things are going to just voila. We’re not a perfect team by far, but we are a hard-working team. We’re a team with no excuses.”

HEAT STARTERS

The Heat have won 13 consecutive games from the Nets, including their past seven road games against the Nets, sweeping the series each of the past four seasons.

[box]Dwayne Wade will return tonight after sitting out the Sixers game to get some rest and Lebron James should be ready to roll and try to make a statement against the upstart Nets.

“It was not pre-planned, it was something our trainers and coaches came to me with,” Wade said. “It’s early in the season, it’s just a precaution.”
