Nets/Celtics Blockbuster Official – Garnett Agrees To Trade

The monstrous mega-deal that the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics have been working on all day is now official as per multiple sources.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports broke the big news today via twitter around 1pm and followed the progress all day.

The deal was contingent upon Garnett waiving his no-trade clause and that last hurdle was overcome a little while ago by sources close to him.

Billy King, Jason Kidd and Deron Williams spoke to Garnett during the draft to persuade him to accept the deal.

The deal cannot be consummated until July 10th by NBA moratorium rules.

The Nets new starting lineup is Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez.

That lineup has 35 All-Star appearances total and 10 more if you add in Kidd’s appearances so leadership should not be a problem for the Nets for the next few years.

Earlier in the day it was reported that Lawrence Frank had agreed to become Kidd’s lead assistant in Brooklyn along with Eric Hughes and Roy Rogers.
