The Brooklyn Nets much hyped opening game vs the NY Knicks has officially been postponed due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Mayor Bloomberg spoke today at a media briefing and let the world know he made the decision and not the NBA.

NBA Deputy Adam Silver statement:

“Mayor Bloomberg informed us this afternoon that after further analysis of the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy that he felt it was in the best interests of the city of NY, the teams and our fans Silver, that we postpone the Knicks-Nets game scheduled for Thursday night.”
