The Nets are coming off a horrible loss to the Warriors on Wednesday night in which they once again let a big first half lead dissipate in the second half with shoddy defense and poor shot selection.
The Nets shot 73.7 percent in the first quarter and led by 12, but went 24 of 64 (37.5 percent) the rest of the game to lose their second in a row after starting the West Coast trip off with a win. The trip ended with a disappointing 1-2 record.
“When we saw that lead, we got a little greedy and started thinking we could do it by ourselves,” Deron Williams said. “A lot of what happened out there was my fault. We didn’t do the little things that you need to do to win games.”
The Nets are 4-1 at home this year and are averaging 100.2 points in their new building compared to 92.4 on the road. Hopefully this trend continues tonight when Lob City comes to town.
Nets need a W in the worst way tonight so they better get it together if they want to hear that “Broook-lyn” chant.
