The Nets were successful last night in defeating the hapless Charlotte Bobcats 97-81 and were able to rest their starters the entire fourth quarter which should help in tonight’s game against the Cavaliers.  PJ Carlesimo started his interim coaching stint off correctly with a much needed win.

The Cavaliers lost 114-101 in Brooklyn on November 13th behind Brook Lopez 23 points and the Nets as a team shot a season high 54.5 percent from the field.

Mikhail Prokhorov is going to meet with Carlesimo today for lunch and he said wants to be patient with the interim coach but is leaving his options open.

“P.J. is the head coach and if it becomes necessary, you know who the usual suspects are,” Prokhorov said.  “I think we have a lot of trust in (Carlesimo) and really I want him to lead the team.”

The Nets need this win tonight before they play the San Antonio Spurs on New Year’s Eve so hopefully the energy level will continue to be high and the wins will follow.
