The Brook Lopez recent ankle injury may have been a bit of a blessing in disguise for the Brooklyn Nets as it gave the coaching staff a chance to give a guy who has worked his way into the rotation in the past three weeks a chance to start and play with the ones.

Mirza Teletovic was given the opportunity he has been waiting for since he came to the NBA last night when he was told he would be starting alongside Kevin Garnett and Alan Anderson in the Nets frontcourt when they took on the struggling Philadelphia 76ers.Mirza Teletovic blocks the Sixers Tony Wroten

The game went well for Teletovic right from the start as he scored six points in the first quarter to help get the Nets out to a nice lead. He finished with 11 points on 4-for-8 from the field, going 2-for-6 from 3-point range and grabbing five rebounds in 26 minutes of play.

His defense was very serviceable most of the night and he did a good job of keeping the 76ers Thaddeous Young off the offensive glass and held his own guarding the big man down low.

He had a nice block of Tony Wroten when he went to the basket on one sequence and moved his feet very well all night long.

Teletovic seems genuinely thankful that the coach and team has given him a legitimate chance to show what he can do.

[quote_box] “It’s just good to get appreciated and Jason’s really good with that,” Teletovic said of Kidd’s comments. “He appreciates if you work hard and play hard. He is going to give you opportunity.”[/quote_box]

Teletovic’s comments after the game really show how much of a team player he is and how he thinks he can help this team stretch the floor and open things up for everyone.

[quote_box]”The most important thing was we got a win. The most important thing was we brought a lot of energy and we had fun playing. You try to be a factor where needed, forward, power forward, center wherever we need it, I play it,” Teletovic said after the game.[/quote_box]

Mirza is not simply a scoring machine and Nets fans are starting to find this out as he gets a real chance to play.

He was not one of the best players in Europe solely based on his offensive capabilities but for his all-around game and basketball IQ.

The more he plays and gets his confidence going the better the Nets will be and the sky is the limit for FEARZA.
