Kidd Set To Meet With Andray Blatche Tomorrow
The NBA Free Agency period is officially upon us at 12 midnight and the Brooklyn Nets are immediately looking to solidify their bench and add to the five All-Stars that they have starting.
The Nets only have four roster spots available right now and only one them can use the “mini” mid-level exception, which gives them the ability to offer a single three-year deal with a salary that starts at $3.18 million.
First order of business looks to be to make sure they resign PF/C Andray Blatche to be the first big man off the bench and have some insurance for the older Kevin Garnett.
News has come out that new head coach Jason Kidd has already scheduled a meeting with the mercurial veteran on Monday July 1st.
The Nets can only offer Blatche 120 percent of the veteran’s minimum salary, although he is due a solid $16 million over the next two seasons from the Washington Wizards, who amnestied him before he signed with the Nets this past offseason.
