Jerry Stackhouse Calling It Quits?
Jerry Stackhouse was brought to Brooklyn this past year to give the newly minted Nets a leader in the lockerroom as well as some shooting off the bench.
In his 18th year Stackhouse had his moments early in the year prior to being shut down in the middle of the year to allow for fresh legs come playoff time. The playoffs didn’t exactly go as planned for the veteran as P.J. Carlesimo shortened his rotation and Stackhouse played limited minutes against the Chicago Bulls in the first round series that ended in a Game 7 loss in Brooklyn.
One moment I won’t personally forget was the first game of the playoffs at Barclays Center with my son watching the North Carolina Tarheel belt out a great rendition of the National Anthem. I had heard a rumor he was going to sing it although when it happened I was utterly shocked at how good he sounded.
The song got his Nets teammates fired up and they played one of their best games of the year by running the Bulls out of the building in a runaway win 106-89.
The season ended harshly for Brooklyn and one question is, “Will Stackhouse call it quits or will he come back for a 19th season in the NBA?”
Stackhouse took to Twitter last night and may have answered some of those questions.
No, but for the right situation….Maybe..“@rdisangro4: @jerrystackhouse you planning on playing another season next year?”
