From Stefan Bondy of the NY Daily News:

It looks as if Jason Kidd is “close” to hiring another assistant coach to add to his Brooklyn Nets staff and his name is Eric Hughes.

Kidd knows Hughes well as he helped coach Kidd when he played his college ball at the University of California.

The status of Lawrence Frank remains unchanged and supposedly Frank is still considering the offer to help Kidd in Brooklyn.

Billy King told the media that decisions should be made later this week on the coaching staff.

Hughes, an assistant and player development coach with the Raptors since 2007, was also an assistant at the University of California when Kidd played there in the early 90s.

He worked with sports agency Goodwin Sports Management, developing training programs for clients such as Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard and Jamal Crawford.[/quote_simple]
