C.J. Watson’s days as a member of the Brooklyn Nets looked to be numbered a couple of weeks ago and then he didn’t inform Brooklyn of anything last night prior to midnight it was a done deal.  He was a free agent.

News has broken a few minutes ago by Alex Kennedy that Watson is “close” to a deal with the Indiana Pacers and will likely become the backup point guard to George Hill.  This also means that DJ Augustin’s days are now numbered in Indiana.

Watson did an admirable job as Deron Williams backup last year but had a down year from the previous season with the Chicago Bulls statistically although his minutes did decrease as well.

He averaged seven points and two assists per game and will forever be known by Nets fans for his missed wide open dunk in the Chicago series that led to the Bulls comeback in triple overtime.

Terms of the deal are undisclosed although it is being reported to be a two year deal..

Now we all know what his cryptic tweet about an hour ago meant……..
