Brooklyn Nets Announce Signing Of Draft Pick Mason Plumlee

The Brooklyn Nets just announced that they have come to terms with the 22nd pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Mason Plumlee from Duke University to a four year 6.5 million contract.

The deal being reported would be a rookie deal in which he will make $1.038 million this season, $1.13 million next season and team options for 2016/2017.

Plumlee averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assist and almost a block and a half per game in his senior season for Duke.

Nets fans will get a first look at the super athletic big man on Sunday when he suits up in the 2013 Orlando Pro Summer League for coach Jason Kidd.

The four-year senior was named Pete Newell Big Man of the Year and Second Team AP All-American in his final collegiate season, in addition to being selected to the All-ACC First Team and the NCAA Midwest Regional All-Tournament Team. In 2012-13, Plumlee averaged 17.1 points (3rd in the ACC), 10.0 rebounds (2nd) and 1.4 blocks (5th), while shooting 59.9% from the field (7th in the nation). He also tied for sixth in the nation in double-doubles. The seven-footer closed his Duke career ranked in the top 10 in rebounds, field goal percentage, blocks and dunks.[/quote_simple]
