Brooklyn And Boston In Pierce Talks?

Reports have come out in the last hour that the Brooklyn Nets, who are supposedly in talks with the Atlanta Hawks for Josh Smith, are also inquiring with the Boston Celtics about Paul Pierce according to Brian Geltzeiler (@hoopscritic) and Yahoo Sports.

The Nets are said to have offered Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first-round draft pick but Paul Pierce grinningthe Celtics didn’t find that attractive enough to part with Pierce.

This wouldn’t be the first time the Nets and Celtics talked deal with Pierce as the centerpiece.  Back in 2012 at the trade deadline Billy King tried to grab the Celtics legend but Boston thought better of it and made another playoff run with him.

This is a twist for sure that not many saw coming but at least King is searching for upgrade to the forward spot and not standing pat.  The Nets are only two games out of the Atlantic division lead and if they solidified the power forward position with Pierce, Paul Milsap or Josh Smith it could have a major impact on a playoff run.
