Andray Blatche was a key piece to the Brooklyn Nets team last season and being an unrestricted free agent he will draw a ton of interest around the league with his size and skillset.

Brooklyn took a chance on Blatche last season after he was amnestied by the Washington Wizards and he turned out to be a very good addition other than a minor slip up in Philadelphia where he was linked to a sexual assault case.

Blatche averaged 10 points and five rebounds for the Nets this past season and was ranked in the Top 10 all year in PER and finished ranked 14th overall.

Peter Vescey is reporting that the meeting took place with the Nets and as a result Blatche has cancelled all other meetings with other teams. That would tell us that he has committed to coming back to Brooklyn.

This would be great news for Brooklyn who really need Blatche to be Kevin Garnetts backup and limit the minutes from the 37 year old power forward.

Better news has come stating that Blatche is agreeing to a one year 1.4 million contract which saves the mini mid-level exception available to pay a shooter like Kyle Korver or Marco Bellinelli.

This contract also allows the Nets to hold his Early Bird Rights next summer meaning they can offer him a 4-year, $25M deal if he continued his solid play.
