The Brooklyn Nets lost to the Portland Trailblazers last night by a score of 108-98 in Brooklyn.

The Nets looked great to start the game and shot 74 percent, scored 40 first quarter points and did not have a single turnover.  The hot shooting slowed down in the second and got worse each quarter and they ended up shooting a mere 36 percent for the game.

The Trailblazers offset the Nets hot start by hitting 8-for-11 3-point shots in the first half and trailed the Nets 63-56 at half.

Kevin Garnett looked great in the first quarter as he hit his first six shots only to miss 11 of his next 12 shots.  He finished 8-for-19 for a season-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.Nets putrid second half vs Blazers

Paul Pierce came back from his one-game hiatus with a groin injury and struggled mightily shooting 2-for-12 in 32 minutes and scored 11 points.

Nets only shot 17-66, including a putrid 22% in the second half to go down by as many as 14 at one point.

LaMarcus Aldridge (27 points on 9-16 shooting) and Wesley Matthews (24 points on 9-13 shooting) led the red hot Trailblazers who extended their winning streak to seven games.

[box]KEY STATS: The Nets shot miserable 17 percent from the floor in the third quarter going 3-for-18 to completely squander a stellar first half.

NOTES: The Nets scored a season-high 63 points in the first half and had a single turnover.
