RECAP – FINAL: #Suns 95 – #Nets 108

The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Phoenix Suns by a score of 108-95 in Brooklyn.

The game started with Shaun Livingston looking very active early with four points an assist and a steal.  Paul Pierce chipped in to scored a quick seven points on 3-for-3 shooting to help Brooklyn to a 17-9 lead.   The Nets hit 8-for-11 early and had five steals and eight assists.  The Nets shot 70 percent from the floor in the first quarter to take a 30-20 lead after one.

With a 3-pointer Deron Williams moved past Chris Morris into sole possession of 4th place on the Nets’ all-time three-pointers list (369).

The bench came in the second and get the flow going with Andray Blatche and Marcus Thornton hitting a few shots early to keep the lead at 10 points.  Mason Plumlee had a seven points in the second and Williams took the Nets into halftime with 15 points and four assists and leading 62-49.

Brooklyn started the third quarter with seven straight points from Joe Johnson to extend lead to 69-51.  The Suns made a run to cut the lead to 76-66 with a 13-3 run when the Nets missed five shots in a row with four minutes left in the third.  Pierce hit a big 3-pointer to stop the bleeding temporarily and vaulted them to a 10-0 to lead 90-72 after three.

Phoenix went on a 6-0 to start the final quarter to make it interesting and Brooklyn woke up behind Williams who came alive again and actually dunked on a fast break to make it 97-83 with six minutes to play. It was Williams first dunk of the season and the crowd went wild. The bench came in to finish the game as the Nets prevailed 108-95.

Plumlee one upped his brother Miles with a huge game of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Johnson had a quiet but great game with 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting, five rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and zero turnovers.

Brooklyn shot a tremendous 57  percent from the field and had 12 more steals to put Phoenix to sleep.

STATS: The Nets matched their longest winning streak (9) at home since 2006.
