The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 108-102 in LA.

This game started out the complete opposite ofthe Warriors game with the Nets running out to a 7-0 lead and the pace was frenetic.

Paul Pierce was on fire hitting his first five shots and went 3-for-3 from deep for 14 points as Nets jump out to 27-10 lead.  The Nets shot 65% and led 33-21 after one.

Recently signed big man, Jason Collins, made his Nets debut with about 10 ½ minutes left in the first half and got a nice ovation from the Staples Center crowd.

The Lakers tried to come back in the second quarter but Brooklyn kept scoring at will and led 63-47 at half behind 58% from the field and 50% from 3-point range.

Pierce had 18 points, Deron Williams chipped in with 17 to lead Brooklyn to back-to-back 30 point quarters with 33 and 30.

The third quarter was sloppy and annoying as the Nets allowed a pitiful Lakers team trim the lead down to 10 points by not playing any defense.

The fourth was more of the same and the Lakers cut the deficit to four with 7:35 remaining before Andrei Kirilenko then went to the line for Brooklyn, made the first and missed the second, but Collins tapped the ball out to Pierce who buried a 3-pointer to push the lead back to nine with 6:26 remaining.

Game over.  Piece ended with 25 points, seven rebounds four steals.

Williams is the 2nd player in the NBA this season to record 30+ points, 5+ rebounds, 7+ assists, 6+ steals in the same game (LeBron James 2/1/14 at NYK).

The Nets also improve to an NBA-best 7-2 against Western Conference teams since Jan. 1 with tonight’s victory in Los Angeles.

“Everyone chipped in tonight for a win on the road. Deron’s playing at a high level right now, and he needs to continue to do that for us to have some success, but I thought Paul got off to a great start” said Jason Kidd
