Twitter Recap: Billy King addressed the media today on the Jason Kidd debacle

Updated: July 1, 2014

Today was probably Brooklyn Nets GM Billy King’s most awkward press conference ever as he had to speak to the media moments ago about the Jason Kidd to Milwaukee situation and how it all transpired as well as where the Nets go from here.

This must have been very tough to keep his true feelings inside and be a professional and leader of this organization through this tough time.

The Nets statement on the Jason Kidd situation:

BROOKLYN, NY – Brooklyn Nets General Manager Billy King announced today that the organization has permitted Jason Kidd to pursue a coaching opportunity with the Milwaukee Bucks. In exchange for allowing Kidd to depart, the Nets will receive two second round draft picks (2015 & 2019) from Milwaukee. A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

In one season as head coach of the Nets, Kidd led Brooklyn to a 44-38 record during the regular season and a first round playoff win over Toronto before losing to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
