Well Nets fans it all starts tonight at 7:30 in Boston and once Brooklyn this squad will be without their entire starting lineup.

Sound familiar?

Brook Lopez has been officially ruled out for tonight’s game with a right mid-foot sprain leaving the Nets to start second year big man Mason Plumlee in his place.

Lopez suffered his latest in a series of foot injuries when his right (chronic) foot was stepped on late in the first quarter of the Oct. 15th  preseason game in China.  The Nets announced the next day that he would miss 10-to-14 days.

Most basketball people thought that it was a long shot for the big man to be ready for opening night but their was a glimmer of hope when Lopez practiced in non-contact drills the past few days.

Keep in mind that Lopez only played in 17 games last season after he once again fractured the fifth metatarsal of his right foot for the second time in his young career.

This is not good news but it doesn’t seem as if this injury is season teetering  just yet.  Stay tuned as well know what can happen from here.

Lionel Hollins put an end to the questions today when he ruled Lopez out after practice.
