The entire Brooklyn Nets team and fan base held their collective breathe right before halftime on Friday night when Deron Williams went down in a heap.  Williams landed on a player’s foot and rolled his ankle pretty bad.  The reaction looked much worse than the actual injury as he came back and played after halftime.

Williams has rolled both his ankle multiple times this season already and hopes the injury bug goes away.

With about a minute remaining in the second, point guard Deron Williams appeared to suffer a significant injury to his right ankle. Williams had to be helped into the locker room but came back out for the second half, and finished with 11 points on 4-for-12 shooting and six assists in 36 minutes.

“I just tweaked it,” a relieved Williams said after the game. “I’ve been twisting both my ankles all season, little tweaks; this one was just a little bit worse. It scared me more than anything, because when I first did it hurt pretty bad, so I thought it was bad.

“I was gonna go get it wrapped anyway, put a little bit more tape on it.”

Williams suffered the injury after spinning inside and missing a shot in the paint when he stepped on Bulls point guard Nate Robinson’s foot. He then began hobbling toward the bench in obvious pain. Williams was escorted by two members of the team’s staff into the locker room because he couldn’t put any pressure on his ankle.
