With the NBA’s official schedule due to come out next week there are rumors circulating that both the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks will play home games on Christmas Day in the city.

Both teams played on Christmas Day last season and it was one the Nets would like to forget as they got hammered by the Boston Celtics.  The Knicks played the Los Angeles Lakers and lost a close game in Los Angeles.

According to the NY DailyNews report, the Knicks will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at Madison Square Garden and over at Barclays Center the Nets will host the Chicago Bulls who eliminated them from the playoffs last year in a grueling seven game series.

Jason Kidd seemed to leak out, at a season ticket holder event earlier in the week, that Brooklyn would be opening the regular season in Cleveland to take on the young upstart Cavaliers.

Another report states the Knicks and Nets will play one of their four league matchups on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
