BROOKLYN NETS (32-30) @ MIAMI HEAT (44-17)

American Airlines Arena 7:00

The starting lineup will be  Deron Williams playing alongside  Shaun Livingston in the backcourt with  Joe Johnson and Paul Pierce up front and the man in the middle Mason Plumlee.

Brooklyn took a big step on Monday night when they gutted out a victory over the visiting Raptors 101-97 behind great games from Williams and Livingston and a dagger shot from Pierce.

The win allowed them to gain a game in the Atlantic division race and they are only three games back right now going into tonight’s big matchup in Miami.

Kevin Garnett will miss a seventh straight game due to back spasms and did not even make the trip to Miami.

Andrei Kirilenko will be a gametime decision with a sprained ankle after missing Monday’s win over Toronto.

The Heat starting lineup will be Mario Chalmers and Dwayne Wade in the backcourt with Lebron James , Shane Battier and  Chris Bosh playing in the frontcourt.

Miami broke a three-game losing streak against the Wizards on Monday night 99-90 and Wade came up big in the fourth scoring 12 of his 22 points.

James has cooled off since he put up 61 points a couple of weeks ago and his shooting percentage has fallen ever since.

The Heat want to make a statement with a win against a team that has defeated them twice this season.

Game Notes:

The Nets have dropped eight straight game in Miami since Feb 2008.

Brooklyn has the Eastern Conference’s best record in 2014 at 22-9 after winning six of seven.

If the Nets win it would be their first time defeating the Heat three times in a season since the 2005-06.

[quote_simple]WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Go for the sweep

The Nets ave won both matchups against the defending world champions this season but both have come in Brooklyn.

Tonight’s tilt will be in Miami and the Heat look to put their recent bad play behind them with a nationally televised game looking for some payback.

Kirilenko not playing is a huge loss for the Nets as he tends to stymie James more than most with his size but if Brooklyn can summon up the will to win this game they would sweep the champions in three games this season.

Andrei Kirilenko – GTD (sprained ankle)

Brook Lopez  – OUT (ankle)

Kevin Garnett – OUT (back spasms)
