Brooklyn goes for a season best-tying third consecutive win tonight against the visiting Atlanta Hawks at home.

The Nets took care of business on Saturday night when they defeated a short-handed Cavaliers team without Kyrie Irving and set themselves up for a quality homestand.

Tonight they have to do the same thing against a struggling Hawks team that lost their best player in Al Horford like the Nets did with Brook Lopez.

The Hawks backcourt has given the Nets fits in the past two season with the faster Jeff Teague leading the way so  Livingston and Williams will need to bring their A-game for the Nets to have a chance at home.

HAWKS STARTERS

The Hawks starting lineup will be Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver in the backcourt with Demarre Carroll, Paul Milsap and Pero Antic playing in the frontcourt.

The Hawks have compiled a 2-3 record since Horford suffered a torn pectoral Dec. 26th.

Atlanta matched its lowest scoring total of the season in a loss to Indiana on Saturday 91-84.

Milsap is the one of two players in the NBA to average at least 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game this season.

[box]WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Small ball…

The Nets look like a different team when they go with the smaller lineup and Pierce playing the power forward along with Livingston running the point.

This creates matchup problems with the guard play as Livingston can play bigger guards and some forwards like he did against OKC.

The success of this lineup change has brought a better perspective from the team and the body language is ten times better than previous games.

They have showed some heart coming back from large deficits the last few games and now they know they can fight through adversity.
