Paul Pierce was simply tired of seeing the Pacers have one free run after another at the basket for layups and did something bout it.

Pierce was issued a flagrant foul 2 with 4:22 left in the third quarter Monday night after he took down George Hill as the guard was about to going up for another layup off another Pacers steal.

The day after…….

The NBA announced Tuesday that Brooklyn Nets small forward Paul Pierce was fined $15,000 for “making excessive and unnecessary contact” with Indiana Pacers point guard George Hill in the third quarter of Monday night’s game.

I don’t think that Pierce should have been ejected for this foul as he did go after the ball but in today’s hyper-sensitive world of professional sports the referee’s have to overreact to quell any retaliation.

This was a simple flagrant 1 foul and Pierce should have been allowed to finish the game without incident but it is 2013 and that is not the way of the world in the NBA today.
