Nets Sign Shaun Livingston To One-Year Deal
Billy King has been talking about bringing in a veteran to compete for the backup point guard role for a few weeks now and now it seems he has done so.
Earlier tonight ESPN’s Marc Stein reported that Shaun Livingston was being courted by the Brooklyn Nets to be solidify the backup point guard position.
A few minutes later news broke that a deal had been struck and Livingston would sign with the Nets on a one-year deal at the veterans minimum. This signing will take he Nets to 14 players so they are likely done for the time being.

The Los Angeles Clippers drafted Livingston with the fourth overall pick in the 2004 when he was a phenomenal athlete that was known for his high basketball IQ and the way he saw the court.
Most people know Livingston for the horrific way he blew out his knee on a breakaway back in 2007 after coming to the NBA at 18 years old. He was a phenom coming into the league and had a ton of talent and expectations until the injury that threatened his career.
Livingston is now 27 years old and averaged 6.3 points and 3.3 assists in 22 minutes last season for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards while shooting a respectable 48 percent from the field and 86 percent from the foul line. Livingston had his best season in years with the Cavaliers after coming back from injuries.
He still has his moments from time to time and can be a solid role player off the bench. That is exactly what Brooklyn wants from him this coming year.
