Nets sign Alan Anderson to a two-year deal

The Brooklyn Nets are trying to keep some continuity a bit and did so by signing Alan Anderson to a two-year $2.6 million deal with the second year being a player option.  Anderson will make $1.27 million in year one and $1.33 million in the second year which is an option.

The two-year deal seems to be the en vogue thing this offseason with the NBA getting a new TV deal at the end of the year meaning players will make more money if they sign next season after opting out.

Anderson played very well last season for Brooklyn and made some big shots while the Nets dealt with injuries.  He started 26 games but mostly came off the bench to provide scoring and defense at the two guard and small forward positions to average 7.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

This is a very good signing for Billy King and the Nets as Anderson is just the type of hard-nosed player that new head coach Lionel Hollins seems to appreciate and cultivate on his teams.

Some good news for the Nets after losing Paul Pierce on Saturday night to the Washington Wizards with a two-year deal for $11 million.
