Magic 74 – Nets 82

The Nets once again made it interesting in the fourth quarter when they let the depleted Orlando Magic hang around way too long and it almost bit them again.  The Nets managed to hold on and beat the Magic 82-74 by not being as bad as the Magic when it counted.

Rebounding was the story of the game and Brooklyn dominated the glass with a 55 to 31 edge and Kris Humphries grabbing 21 was the leader.

Humphries had 14 pts to go along with those boards while Brook Lopez only had 3 rebs and scored 20 pts to go with 7 turnovers.  The bench bigs with Evans and Blatche grabbed 14 rebs between them and played good interior defense for the most part.

Deron Williams said ” We are happy with the win but we aren’t happy the way we played in the second half, especially the fourth quarter.  This is the second time we almost blew a 20 point plus lead so we have to look at the film to see what we did wrong.  We need to come out with more aggressiveness even when we are up 20.”

“As a group we haven’t gotten into a rhythm offensively and that will take time and will come.”
