NBA Offices open for business:

The Brooklyn Nets have officially traded Tyshawn Taylor and cash considerations to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for the draft rights to Edin Bavcic.

Bavcic was drafted in 2006 and has never played in NBA and will probably never come over in the future.  It doesn’t matter because it frees up a roster spot and lessens the luxury tax while creating a trade exception of almost $800K.

The Nets also officially announce trade Tornike Shengelia to the Bulls for Marquis Teague.

Teague was drafted 29th overall in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls.  He will wear #12 with the Nets after his whole college and pro career he wore #25 because that number is retired by the Nets Bill Melchionni.

Billy King told ESPN Radio 98.7 that he like’s Teague’s quickness and without having draft picks it gives the team a player that Jason Kidd can work with.

In essence the Nets got rid of a third string point guard with turnover issues who rarely played, a quick small forward who couldn’t crack the lineup since his audition in summer league to make the team and received a 20 year old former first round draft pick from 2012 while opening up a roster spot.
