Brooklyn Nets Announce Transportation Information for Fans for Game Tonight, November 5, at Barclays Center

BROOKLYN (November 5, 2012) – Given continued disruptions to transportation caused by Hurricane Sandy, the Brooklyn Nets are issuing an updated transportation plan for guests planning to attend the Brooklyn Nets-Minnesota Timberwolves game at Barclays Center tonight, November 5, at 7:30 p.m.

The attached plan is also available at www.BrooklynNets.com and www.BarclaysCenter.com . Fans are encouraged to monitor www.mta.info for updates for subway and commuter rail availability.

Highlights of the transportation plan include:

MTA Buses: All MTA Brooklyn bus routes have been restored with limited service, however the MTA will be providing additional buses to the routes serving the arena following the game, as needed. Eleven bus lines stop near the arena: B25, B26, B38, B41, B45, B52, B63, B65, B67, B69, and B103. Please refer to www.mta.info for the most recent service information.

Subways/LIRR: Almost all subway lines are running and can bring fans to and from Barclays Center. MTA Long Island Rail Road is operating on a modified schedule to Atlantic Terminal. Please refer to mta.info for up-to-date service information.

i. Normal service has resumed on the 2, 3, 4, 5, D, N, and Q lines, which are stopping at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station in both directions.

ii. C train service has resumed and is stopping at the Lafayette Avenue station in both directions.

iii. R train service is operating between Bay Ridge-95th Street and Jay Street-MetroTech. There is no R train service between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

iv. B and G trains are not running at this time.

v. LIRR is operating on a modified schedule on all branches, except the Long Beach branch. The onboard fare penalty is currently waived.

Parking: Ticketholders are encouraged to utilize the Barclays Center pre-paid parking system, operated by Click and Park, at www.BarclaysCenter.com through which they can reserve parking spaces in a specific lot located within easy walking distance of the arena. There are 18 parking facilities with approximately 3,500 parking spaces available within a half-mile radius of the arena. There are also five remote parking facilities within a mile of Barclays Center, with more than 1,200 spaces.

Black Cars: For patrons utilizing black cars, drivers must be notified that no-idling laws will be strictly enforced. A drop-off/pick-up zone is available on the east-bound side of Atlantic Avenue between Fort Greene Place and 6th Avenue.

Bicycle Parking: Barclays Center offers a free and secure bicycle parking lot for 400 bikes at the corner of Dean Street and 6th Avenue, just steps from the Dean Street entrance.

Carpooling: Barclays Center encourages carpooling. The Click and Park pre-paid reservation system offers discounted parking passes for HOV vehicles; HOV status is three people per vehicle or proof of purchase of a minimum of three tickets to the game.

Entrances: The following are the arena’s three general entrances and one VIP entrance.

  • Geico Atrium, the Main Entrance, located at the Intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. The American Express Box Office is located here.
  • EmblemHealth Atlantic Entrance, Northeast corner of arena on Atlantic Avenue.
  • EmblemHealth Dean Entrance, Southeast corner of arena on Dean Street.
  • Calvin Klein VIP Entrance, Northwest corner of arena on Atlantic Avenue.
