The Nets did what they had to do this past weekend and won both games against two of the leagues worst teams, Charlotte and Cleveland, and pushed their record to 16-14 and head to San Antonio to play the Spurs tonight on New Years Eve.

This would be a huge win for new interim coach PJ Carlesimo to get against the team he won three championships with as an assistant.  The Nets could use a big win against the Spurs to further their confidence and get on a roll.

Brook Lopez had a season-high 35 points and 11 rebounds against the Cavaliers, and is averaging 27.3 on 62.0 percent shooting over the last three games.  Deron Williams seemed to have found a groove again since the coaching change and is playing well and looking for his shot more.

“This can start something, so for us to get these two wins, we’ve got a little confidence going on the road,” Joe Johnson said. “We’ll ride this confidence into San Antonio and try to get us another win.”

INJURY REPORT:

Kris Humphries (sore abdominal muscle) is questionable.
