Nets Free Agency Begins

The Nets have started off FA 2012 by getting a deal worked out with Gerald Wallace as per ESPN’s Mark Stein

@NBAonESPN: Nets closing in on a four-year, $40M deal with Gerald Wallace, sources tell @ESPNSteinLine

Most thought it would be a 3yr/24m deal but a 4th yr has been added but it may not be guaranteed so we will have to wait and see. Wallace will be 34 in last year of the deal. Nets can use “stretch exemption” on Wallace final year to only make it a $5mil cap hit in year 4, so Crash deal essentially 3yrs $35mil. The deal has been reported since that all 4 years are guaranteed and I am totally fine with that as Crash is a high intensity player that will earn every penny.

Good start for Billy King.
