Mikhail Prokhorov tells Jason Kidd “Don’t let the door hit you where the good lord split you”

Mikhail Prokhorov spoke yesterday prior to attending his Brooklyn Nets home opener and let his feelings be known about his former coach Jason Kidd.

Prokhorov was asked how he feels about the split from the teams legend and his answer was quite entertaining.

“I think there is a nice proverb in English……… Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord has split you,” Prokhorov said before the Nets blew out the Oklahoma City Thunder116-85 for their first home win. “So I think that each side, we did what we thought was the best and I like what we have now.

“I think our structure is optimal. We have a very strong experienced coach and a very strong GM (in) Billy King.”

 “I think we shouldn’t get mad. I think we should get even. And we will see it on the court.”

Prokhorov later answered questions about the rumors circulating that he is willing to sell his stake in the team for the right price.

“My position is that I will not give up control of the team,” Prokhorov said. “But you know, I am quite happy when somebody sends me a nice offer without taking my controlling interest. I think for the time being nothing is imminent. But still I think it is not bad just to listen.”

“It was a great investment in Brooklyn,” Prokhorov said. “For me it was very important to invest some money to make the team better and invest some money in the Brooklyn Nets.”

“If you look at the market, I think my investment, minimum five, six times more than I spent.”

How can any Nets fan not like this guys brash way of dealing with rumors and bad publicity.  He simply tells it like it is and how he feels with no worry about the ramifications.

I personally love that attitude and wish there were more owners like him in the NBA.  He knows the team has lost a ton of money the past two seasons but simply calls that “pocket change” for himself and moves on.

The man wants to win and if you cross him in any way you will be exiled just like he did with the franchises most well known player/coach.

If you aren’t on board with what he is doing then get off his ship and go elsewhere.

I love it and hope it continues for years to come.
