Jason Terry Laughs at JR Smith's Title Guarantee

The former Sixth Man of the Year Brooklyn Nets guard Jason Terry continues to stoke the fires of New York basketball and most recently laughed off JR Smith’s guarantee that the Knicks would win the championship  this year in an interview with Dime Magazine.

Terry was asked what he thought about Smith’s recent title guarantee and he gave a great response………[blockquote]”Maybe the Rucker Park Championship. I don’t know, not the NBA championship. I don’t see how they could guarantee that, at all. I’m not buying it.”[/blockquote]I don’t know about other Nets fans but I am thoroughly enjoying this trash talk between the Nets and Knicks as it can only make the games more intense.

The fun has just begun for the “Jet and JR Show” now that Terry is donning a Brooklyn uniform and not a Boston Celtics uniform.  The elbow that Smith threw on Terry in last years playoffs was the impetus behind the Knicks allowing the Celtics to take them to seven hard fought games.

For now only the imagination can run wild and think about what these two super confident guards have in store for the New York rivalry this year.

Lets get this going already.

Dime: Speaking of this upcoming season, you recently said that you guys have “the formula” to knock off the 2013 NBA champions, the Miami Heat. But there’s also another team in New York with championship aspirations after J.R. Smith recently guaranteed that the Knicks would be crowned in 2014. Talk about the hype going into this new found rivalry.
JT: They would win what? What did he guarantee? They would win what? I didn’t hear that.

Dime: The championship.Garnett Pierce and Terry celebrate Celtics win
JT: They would win the championship?

Dime: Yeah, he said 100 percent guarantee.
JT: The NBA championship?

Dime: Yup.
JT: Right. Maybe the Rucker Park Championship. I don’t know, not the NBA championship. I don’t see how they could guarantee that, at all. I’m not buying it, so… I mean, it’s a bitter rivalry, you know it’s going to be intense, and however they feel over there in that locker room they are guaranteed and entitled to feel that way but we don’t want to see that happen on our watch.

Dime: I love it man.
JT: Yessir.[/quote_simple]
