The Brooklyn Nets season took another strange twist today as rookie head coach Jason Kidd was name Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for January.
The Nets’ 10-3 (.769) record in January marked the best winning percentage for the month of January in the franchise’s 38 NBA seasons.
Brooklyn looks to be putting their early season struggles behind them as the naysayers that thought Kidd couldn’t coach in the first two months seemed to be quieted for a while.
Kidd becomes the fourth head coach in franchise history to earn Coach of the Month honors with the latest being Avery Johnson in November 2012.
Just Announced: Dave Joerger (12-3) of the @MemGrizz & Jason Kidd (10-3) of the @BrooklynNets named NBA Coaches of the Month for January.
