Jason Kidd retired today after playing 19 seasons in the NBA in which he spent six and a half seasons with the New Jersey Nets and resurrected the once wallowing franchise from the NBA depths.

Kidd was the “Greatest Net of All-Time” in my opinion.

His undeniable will to win and child-like enthusiasm made players want to play harder and better than they ever would have in their lives.

A magician with the ball and the ultimate competitor and leader.  He simply made everyone around him better and that includes coaches.

Kidd averaged 12.6 points, 8.7 assists. 6.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game in his career and was a 10-time All-Star. He finished his career third all-time in triple-doubles and third all-time in 3-pointers.

The Hall of Fame will have a new inductee in five years and no one deserves that title more than J-Kidd.
